Canva down: uploads not working for users on 2 July 2026

If you can’t get Canva to work this morning, you’re not the only one.

Update on 2 July 2026 at 13:15: Everything appears to be back to normal on Canva early this afternoon.

These days, Canva has become a go-to platform for giving free rein to your creativity and imagination. It’s very easy to use and free in its basic version, enabling people to design illustrations, edit images, build presentations, or put together more impactful CVs.

That’s why today’s disruption is such bad news for Canva’s 40 million users on Thursday 2 July 2026. Since this morning, users have been reporting issues across the platform, mainly affecting media uploads. Here’s what we know so far.

Canva outage

DownDetector has logged a large number of reports relating to Canva. So this isn’t an isolated incident, and you’re far from the only one having trouble with the platform this morning. Whether you’re using the website or the mobile app, it’s currently impossible to import photos, images and videos from your personal library.

What isn’t working on Canva: importing photos, images and videos

When you try to upload a file, Canva says it can’t upload it. “You appear to be signed out or offline, or Canva’s servers are unreachable”. Rest assured, it’s not on your side-it’s on theirs. So don’t expect to fix it by switching browsers: the issue is being seen on Chrome, Firefox and even Safari.

Despite this, the platform is not (at least for now) displaying any notice about the outage. On social media, Canva hasn’t (yet) said anything either, although you’d expect that to change soon. In the meantime, the minutes keep ticking by and the problem continues, frustrating users more and more.

What to do while the Canva outage is being resolved

For the moment, the only option is to wait until the outage is fixed. While these problems continue, we can only suggest finding an alternative for editing your photos and working on your projects, while keeping an eye out for an official statement from Canva.
