Amazon has launched the Kindle Colorsoft, a new e-reader designed to make digital reading feel as close as possible to reading a printed book. For the Spring Flash Sales, the retailer is cutting the price to below €185.
Spring Flash Sales: Kindle Colorsoft down to €184 instead of €269
As part of the Spring Flash Sales, Amazon is slashing the price of its latest Kindle Colorsoft to €184, down from €269. That’s an immediate saving of -31%, available to everyone with no special requirements-other than acting quickly, because this is a flash deal with limited time and stock.
The “Spring Flash Sales” campaign runs on Amazon from 10 to 16 March inclusive, but no current deal is expected to last until the end date. The name is literal: offers are time-limited, typically staying live for a day, and sometimes only for a few hours. Aside from the discount, Amazon is still providing the usual Kindle Colorsoft benefits: free, fast delivery, the manufacturer’s warranty, and free returns within 30 days with a full refund.
The Kindle Colorsoft: a genuinely pleasant (and premium) e-reader to use
Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft is a next-generation e-reader that brings a colour display to the range for the first time. Built for digital reading, it can show book covers, magazines, illustrations, comics and even highlights in colour, while keeping the familiar advantages of electronic ink. It comes in a compact, lightweight design at 215 g, with dimensions close to 127.6 mm x 176.7 mm x 7.8 mm for a comfortable grip. It is also water-resistant thanks to its IPX8 certification, so you can read by the pool or in the bath without worry.
Screen and lighting: 7-inch colour E-Ink made for outdoor reading
The Kindle Colorsoft features a 7-inch colour E-Ink touchscreen with an anti-glare surface, making it easy to read even in bright sunshine. Resolution is around 300 ppi for black-and-white content and 150 ppi for colour, delivering crisp text and clear images. The panel also includes adjustable front lighting with a configurable colour temperature, so you can shift from a cooler white light to a warmer tone (for instance, to ease eye strain when reading at night). The result is a paper-like feel, with the added bonus of colour illustrations and colour highlights.
The Kindle Colorsoft e-reader includes 16 GB of internal storage, letting you keep several thousand ebooks, comics and other documents on hand. It supports a wide selection of file formats such as AZW, PDF, TXT and DOCX via conversion, which makes importing different kinds of content straightforward. There’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity too, allowing access to the Kindle Store, syncing books with your Amazon account, and listening to Audible audiobooks using wireless headphones. As part of Amazon’s Kindle ecosystem, it opens the door to a digital library of several million ebooks.
Another key strength of the Kindle Colorsoft is its battery, designed for very long endurance: up to about eight weeks on a single charge (based on 30 minutes of reading per day, Wi-Fi turned off, and moderate brightness). This is one of the standout benefits of electronic-ink readers compared with standard tablets, which need charging far more often. Charging and data transfer are handled through its USB-C port.
Lastly, the Kindle Colorsoft includes a range of tools intended to enhance reading comfort and usability. You can highlight passages in multiple colours, review your notes, adjust font size and type, or enable Page Color mode, which inverts colours for reading on a dark background. It also offers learning-focused features such as the built-in dictionary, Vocabulary Builder, and reading-progress synchronisation across different Kindle devices or the mobile app. With a -31% discount, it’s an ideal moment to make the switch-and to stop having to choose just one book to take with you when you’re travelling.
