Intel Arc Pro B70: workstation GPU proves surprisingly capable in games

A workstation-focused accelerator turns out to be perfectly usable for gaming

Intel unveiled the Arc Pro B70 graphics card two days ago, and the first independent tests have already appeared online. Notably, despite being aimed primarily at workstations, the new model has also been benchmarked in games.

Intel Arc Pro B70 gaming benchmarks

In gaming workloads, the Arc Pro B70 delivers a clear lead over the previously released Arc Pro B60. Averaged across six tests, the newcomer came out at roughly 45% faster. The comparisons were run at 1080p and 1440p in Cyberpunk 2077, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Specifications, power limits, and memory

The Intel Arc Pro B70 is equipped with 4096 shader units - 60% more than the B60, which has 2560. Even so, the performance uplift is smaller than the increase in compute resources, which could point to limits around power consumption or clock speeds.

The reference Arc Pro B70 is rated at 230 W, but the upper limit is higher - 290 W. What’s more, Sparkle lists a variant with a 330 W power limit, and its performance could be higher still. The Intel Arc Pro B70 also comes with 32 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit bus.
