Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are a little over a month away from launch. These remakes of the fourth-generation favourites from the Nintendo DS are receiving a refreshed visual style along with some modern quality-of-life improvements.
New Gameplay Today: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl preview
In this instalment of New Gameplay Today, master trainers Alex Stadnik and John Carson discuss a recent preview event where Nintendo and The Pokémon Company outlined the updated features players can look forward to across the pair of Switch games. We highlight several of the biggest additions and share five full minutes of fresh gameplay - which, fittingly, matches the name of the series.
From the 2006 originals to the Nintendo Switch remakes
First released in 2006, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl brought monster catching, training, and trading to Nintendo’s dual-screen handheld. The Switch versions are being handled by Pokémon Home developer ILCA, a studio that has also worked on other JRPGs such as Dragon Quest XI, Nier: Automata, and Yakuza 0. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl arrive on Nintendo Switch on 19 November.
