Gilat Defense at Eurosatory 2026: Strategy for Latin America

Gilat Defense’s presence at Eurosatory 2026 offered a clearer view of the company’s approach to Latin America. The firm is looking to deepen its footprint across the region by teaming up with local businesses and delivering connectivity solutions to armed forces, governments and other organisations. In parallel, it regards Latin America as a strong growth area within a wider market in which the United States continues to be one of its principal partners.

Regional expansion with the support of local partners

In an interview carried out by Zona Militar during the exhibition, company representatives said their goal is to reinforce a global plan built around collaboration with local companies. The intention is to provide technical support and capabilities shaped to the needs of government, corporate and defence customers. They also noted that Gilat is monitoring how Latin American markets are developing, given the expansion potential the company sees across the region.

The company stressed that its offer goes beyond the delivery of standalone hardware. “We do not simply provide an antenna; we deliver a complete integrated solution for our customers. It may include a Gilat product, one that we source through our partners, or even a solution that we need to develop. Gilat has the necessary tools to do so,” company representatives said.

Solutions for complex operational environments

Gilat Defense’s defence division is geared towards supporting defence integrators, national security organisations, Armed Forces and government bodies. As a dedicated unit, it consolidates the capabilities of Gilat Satellite Networks alongside its subsidiaries, Gilat Wavestream and Gilat DataPath. Its work includes providing secure communications solutions for missions in challenging environments and difficult-to-access locations.

The company also reports a solid position in the market linked to the U.S. Department of Defense. To underpin that presence, it operates in the United States via Gilat DataPath, while elsewhere it relies on its own experts and a network of strategic partners. The systems it fields are intended to deliver beyond-line-of-sight connectivity, whether deployed in remote areas or used during operations on the move.

Satellite communications portfolio

Gilat Defense’s portfolio, as presented, spans VSAT networks and satellite modems; military-grade intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems; unmanned terminals; portable equipment; and ground mobility solutions. The range also covers solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs), in-flight connectivity solutions, electronically steered array (ESA) antennas for commercial and business aviation, plus global support and training services.

According to the company, these developments are designed to push forward multi-orbit satellite communications. Its solutions support operations across geostationary orbit (GEO), medium Earth orbit (MEO) and low Earth orbit (LEO) networks, with the aim of extending connectivity for remote scenarios and complex operational environments. Through this approach, Gilat Defense is seeking to establish itself as an integrated solutions provider for customers in Latin America and beyond.
