The Quantum Systems Group says it intends to set several speed records in the coming weeks, underlining its ongoing push for technical performance at the edge of what is possible.

Apex Recordhunter and the 699 km/h benchmark

Quantum Systems’ N3XT team in Germany has broken the world record for the fastest battery-powered electric flying object, with official confirmation still pending. In internal trials on 26 June, the team’s Apex Recordhunter reached a top speed of 699 km/h in straight-and-level flight, marking an unofficial best-in-the-world result. An attempt to secure official certification is expected within the next few weeks.

Next-generation high-speed technology from Quantum Systems

Built over the past year, the Apex Recordhunter is positioned as a technology demonstrator for next-generation high-speed systems. A number of innovations from the programme are expected to feed into future interceptor drone projects.

WIY Drones targets Ukrainian speed records

At the same time, WIY Drones-part of the Quantum Systems Group-is aiming for two official Ukrainian speed records in planned tests anticipated for next week.

The intended records are:

  • STRILA interceptor – Highest speed achieved by an FPV (First Person View) interceptor drone carrying a 0.5 kg payload;
  • SPYS – Highest speed achieved by an FPV interceptor drone in the anti-aircraft class.

According to the group, these efforts reflect WIY’s continued development of high-performance interceptor systems designed to counter increasingly fast and manoeuvrable aerial threats, drawing on the company’s operational experience and its expanding role within the Quantum Systems Group.

Robert Gardemin from the N3XT Department said:

“For more than a year, this project has meant early mornings, late nights, setbacks, breakthroughs, sacrifices and an unwavering belief that we could push the limits of what’s possible. 699 km/h is an incredible milestone, but it’s only the beginning. We’ll be back very soon to go even faster and make it official.”

The Quantum Systems Group adds that further technical details and officially verified results will be released after the official record attempts.
