Two armed men robbed a mobile phone shop in Guimaraes on Saturday morning, making off with dozens of electronic devices and accessories.

Third incident in recent weeks

This was the third robbery reported in the same sector in the city over the past few weeks, a run of offences that is heightening concern among shopkeepers and local residents.

According to a source at the National Command of the Public Security Police (PSP), the alert was raised at 10:45.

The suspects entered the premises carrying a firearm and managed to take roughly 30 mobile phones along with various accessories before fleeing the scene.

Enquiry transferred to the Judicial Police

Because a firearm was used, the investigation has been handed over to the Judicial Police, which will establish the circumstances of the crime and seek to identify those responsible.

So far, no information has been released about any arrests or the suspects’ identities.
