DJI Osmo Pocket 4 (2026): the pocket camera that raises the bar

DJI is releasing a new version of its handheld camera: the Osmo Pocket 4. The recipe is unchanged, yet it brings a set of smart upgrades designed to make day-to-day use simpler. Is it enough to leave rivals trailing?

Could the Osmo Pocket 4 become the new benchmark in the pocket camera market? That is clearly the ambition for DJI’s 2026 model. There is no major break from the Osmo Pocket 3, but the many refinements on offer make it a genuinely compelling device.

What’s new in the design?

The Osmo Pocket 4 sticks closely to the familiar design language of the range, with a few practical tweaks. The most noticeable change is the arrival of two additional buttons beneath the rotating screen: one provides instant zoom steps at x2 and x4, while the other lets you access your presets straight away.

DJI has also added a magnet, enabling you to attach various accessories to the Osmo, such as a lens or an extra light. The joystick has been upgraded too, delivering tighter control over the camera. Overall, it looks much like the Osmo Pocket 3-and that’s no bad thing, as the form factor remains impressively effective.

What are the new features of the Osmo Pocket 4?

The Osmo Pocket 4 keeps its 1-inch CMOS sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, but it can now record 4K at 240 fps. DJI also promises improved low-light capture alongside more effective stabilisation.

Where DJI is aiming to make the biggest impact is with features, starting with highly accurate subject tracking-even when using x4 zoom. The experience is designed to stay straightforward: you can lock onto a subject with a simple tap on the screen, and switch to another subject using the same gesture. DJI adds that autofocus keeps faces consistently sharp.

A filmed subject can show an open palm to trigger remote automatic tracking, and can also take photos by making a V sign with their fingers-handy for vloggers who like to be in front of the camera. They will also appreciate the 107 GB of built-in storage. Battery life is said to match the previous model, with recording up to 240 minutes in 1080p, plus fast charging that gets you back to 80% in a rapid 18 minutes.
