It is a rough start to the week: on Wednesday 1 July, Orange’s mobile and fixed-line networks were hit by an outage. Hundreds of reports have been logged, and some customers are unable to get online via fixed broadband or use 4G or 5G mobile data.

Reports surge on DownDetector and social media

On DownDetector, subscribers are flagging the problem in large numbers, and similar messages are also appearing across social networks. At this stage, it is still unclear whether the outage is confined to specific areas or is affecting the whole country.
