Adobe has just released a powerful ChatGPT plug-in that brings together more than 70 tools from across its applications.
ChatGPT’s development is increasingly focused on productivity, particularly through the Codex and ChatGPT Work platforms, which can complete tasks on your behalf rather than simply responding to prompts. Thanks to Adobe’s new plug-in, released last night, it is now possible to automate additional tasks involving video editing, photo retouching and PDF document generation in Codex and ChatGPT Work. Installing a single ChatGPT plug-in provides access to more than 70 tools linked to Adobe’s various creative applications.
Adobe’s ChatGPT plug-in offers more than 70 creative tools
According to the company, these tools support “a broad range of workflows, from photo editing and campaign video creation to designing marketing assets and generating polished PDFs”. For instance, users can send a long video to the AI and ask it to produce a highlights compilation tailored to YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels or TikTok formats.
The plug-in also lets users upload photographs from an advertising campaign, alongside a description of the desired outcome, to generate product or packaging mock-ups. Its capabilities are not restricted to visual content, either. Data can also be submitted - such as an Excel file - with instructions to create a usable PDF document.
A free plug-in for ChatGPT
Adobe’s new ChatGPT plug-in is free and does not require users to sign in to a Creative Cloud account. Some Adobe features powered by its generative AI are, however, reserved for account holders. Connecting a Creative Cloud account to the new plug-in also enables data synchronisation. Codex and ChatGPT Work are free as well, although a ChatGPT Plus subscription is required for extended access to these productivity tools.
Adobe applications remain available for advanced editing
While Adobe’s new plug-in can automate further tasks without leaving ChatGPT, the included tools are not intended to replace Adobe’s applications. “This wide range of capabilities means the plugin can adapt to the needs of your project, and, when you want advanced edits, creative control or pixel-level precision, you can continue your work in Adobe applications,” the company explains.
