Xiaomi unveils Mijia Smart Range Hood 3C Side Suction for smart homes

The device integrates into a smart home ecosystem and can work alongside a hob or smoke detectors

Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Smart Range Hood 3C Side Suction, a new smart kitchen extractor hood designed for modern houses and flats.

The unit delivers a peak extraction capacity of 24 m³/min, with static pressure rated at 500 Pa. It draws air across a wide 60° intake angle, while the angled design helps it capture cooking fumes more effectively.

A key feature is gesture control: users can switch the hood on and off with a wave of the hand, and adjust settings without touching the control panel. The device also supports pairing with a hob and can automatically synchronise with compatible cookers.

Control is available via the Mi Home app, or by voice using the Xiao AI smart assistant. The hood can also be added to smart home automation routines with other devices, including smoke detectors.

Sales will be handled through the Xiaomi Youpin platform. The crowdfunding price is $140; the standard price will be higher at $180. Sales begin on 20 April.
