Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy M17e 5G in India. In practical terms, the new handset is a renamed version of the Galaxy A07 5G, which made its debut last month.

Display and performance

Inside, the Galaxy M17e 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. It comes with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage, with further expansion available via microSD.

On the front, it features a 6.7-inch IPS display with an HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

Cameras, design and durability

The Galaxy M17e 5G is equipped with a dual rear camera setup, combining 50 MP and 2 MP sensors. Around the front, the selfie camera is 8 MP.

It also offers IP54 protection and is housed in a body measuring 8.2 mm thick.

Battery, software and pricing for the Galaxy M17e 5G

Battery capacity is 6000 mAh, and 25 W charging is supported. The phone runs Android 16 with One UI 8.0, and Samsung promises 6 years of operating system and security updates.

Other specifications include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB‑C port. Pricing starts at 12,999 rupees (about $140) for the 4/128 GB version, while the 6/128 GB variant costs 14,499 rupees (about $160).
