Xiaomi 17T series passes IMDA certification ahead of global launch

The Xiaomi 17T series is edging closer to its worldwide release, having now appeared in Singapore’s IMDA certification database - a clear sign that the official announcement is not far away.

IMDA stands for the Infocomm Media Development Authority, a Singapore government body. It is responsible for assessing telecommunications equipment, radio products and Internet of Things devices sold in the country. This certification confirms that a device meets technical standards, cyber security requirements and safety regulations, and it remains valid for five years.

According to the IMDA listing, the Xiaomi 17T series has been registered under two model numbers - covering the standard and Pro versions: 2602DPT53G and 2602EPTC0G.

The Xiaomi 17T series is expected to bring small but meaningful upgrades compared with the previous generation. Reports suggest the Xiaomi 17T will use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 system-on-chip, while the Pro variant may come with the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500. A 6,500 mAh battery is anticipated with 67 W fast charging support, and the front-facing camera is rumoured to have a 32 MP resolution.
