The DJI Mini 5 Pro is the brand’s latest drone release. If you have been waiting for the right moment to pick one up for far less than its usual price, AliExpress is currently running a deal you will not want to miss.

This offer will not be around for long, either: it ends on Wednesday 7 January in the evening. In the final hours of its “New Year offers” campaign, AliExpress is knocking €197 off what is arguably the standout drone right now.

AliExpress discount: price, codes and eligible versions

Using code FRCD60 or FRBB60, the DJI Mini 5 Pro drops to €602 instead of €799 at launch. That is an excellent saving on the go-to compact drone for 2026. This price applies to the version supplied with the basic remote controller (without a built-in screen).

The current deal is here:

Other configurations are included too, notably RC-N3, Combo RC2 and Combo Plus RC2. You simply choose the version you want directly on the promotion page. Either way, AliExpress backs the purchase with customer services that are hard to fault.

Delivery, VAT, returns and PayPal instalments

With this DJI drone, you get free, fast delivery in just a few days. The item is shipped from France, which means the listed price already includes VAT. If you change your mind, you have 15 days to return it and receive a refund.

For added flexibility, you can also pay in 4 interest-free instalments via PayPal. In practice, that works out at €150.50 when you place the order, followed by the same amount spread across the next three months. It does not get much more convenient.

Why choose the DJI Mini 5 Pro?

Released in September 2025, the DJI Mini 5 Pro - which earned an excellent 8.5/10 in our review - stands as the benchmark consumer drone in 2026. This compact, foldable model is easy to carry and straightforward for anyone to fly thanks to its featherweight 249 g design. That detail matters, because it keeps the drone under the crucial 250 g threshold.

In practical terms, there is no training or exam required before you can take off. That makes it a major plus for newcomers, while still being a strong option for experienced pilots. The DJI Mini 5 Pro features a 1-inch 50 MP CMOS sensor, producing stills at 8,192 × 6,144 pixels, and it can record 4K video at up to 120 fps in HDR.

Camera latitude, gimbal flexibility and low-light capability

With 14 stops of dynamic range and 10-bit H.265 encoding, you have plenty of latitude for colour grading. The 3-axis gimbal is also notably versatile: it can rotate up to 225° to capture native vertical video (ideal for social platforms), and it handles dim conditions well with sensitivity up to ISO 12,800.

Obstacle avoidance, tracking and return-to-home

Flight safety has clearly been prioritised. The drone carries a wide array of sensors: four fisheye lenses plus a front LiDAR scan the surroundings in 360°, even in very low light (down to 1 lux). This enables the drone to avoid obstacles by itself. You also get ActiveTrack 360° for hands-off subject tracking, along with Smart RTH, which automatically returns the aircraft to its take-off point.

Transmission, speed, wind resistance and creative modes

The O4+ transmission system provides a smooth Full HD 60p live feed, while the theoretical range stretches to up to 10 km. Despite its size, it copes surprisingly well in wind - up to Beaufort force 6, or 12 m/s. In Sport mode, it reaches 19 m/s. On top of that, you have staples such as QuickShots and Waypoints to automate flight paths.

Depending on the battery you choose, expect around 40 minutes of flight time, which is comfortably long for building shots without rushing. Another welcome extra is the 42 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded to 512 GB via microSD for hours of footage. Everything is managed intuitively in the DJI Fly app (easy pairing with Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi‑Fi), with D-Log M and HLG flat profiles available for anyone planning to fine-tune colour in post-production.

Whether you are filming vlogs, carrying out inspections or producing professional-grade video, the DJI Mini 5 Pro is a superb option. At this highly advantageous price only a few months after launch, it is a genuinely standout deal worth grabbing before Wednesday - after that, it will be too late.
