Pilatus adds Gogo Galileo connectivity to the PC-24
Pilatus has announced that the Gogo Galileo connectivity system will be available as a factory-installed option for the PC-24 business jet. The new offering will provide global access to high-speed internet through OneWeb’s low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network, enabling low-latency connectivity in flight.
Certification and worldwide OneWeb LEO coverage
The system has been certified by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Pilatus says it will now be offered on the PC-24, expanding the aircraft’s connectivity capability in any region of the world.
According to the Swiss manufacturer, the solution is intended to keep passengers connected throughout the entire flight, with high-speed internet suitable for tasks such as video conferencing, using cloud-based tools, and streaming content.
Cabin experience and passenger use cases
With the update, the PC-24 cabin is positioned as a more suitable environment for both work and leisure, reflecting growing demand for productivity and always-on connectivity while travelling.
Aerodynamics, noise, and aircraft performance
Pilatus also stated that the integration was engineered to protect the aircraft’s aerodynamic performance. The placement and shape of the antenna fairings were defined to minimise drag and prevent any significant impact on flight characteristics.
The company says that installing the system virtually does not change the PC-24’s take-off performance, rate of climb, or cruise speed. In addition, the antenna was designed to avoid unwanted noise, while weight-and-balance management ensures the installation does not compromise the aircraft’s operational characteristics.
Pilatus further highlights that Gogo Galileo delivers high upload and download speeds, global coverage, and low latency, offering a connectivity experience aligned with current operator and passenger expectations. The system also includes flexible service plans and was developed to support future onboard connectivity requirements.
