The connector linking Claude with Gmail now lets you send, reply to or forward an email directly from the AI chatbot, saving time. Its Google Drive integration is also being enhanced, allowing you to manage files from Claude. In addition, Claude has recently made its productivity tool, Claude Cowork, available on mobile and the web across all subscription plans.

Claude and Gmail: send emails from the AI chatbot

The intelligence of AI models such as Claude and ChatGPT is only genuinely useful when they can interact with other applications. Claude has long offered a connector that links its AI tool to Google services including Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive. With the Claude and Gmail connection, for instance, users could ask the AI to compile all the information from electricity bills received by email.

That integration between Claude and Gmail is now going further: users can ask the AI to send an email without opening the Gmail app. Alongside the existing features, the AI can now send an email, reply to one or forward it through its connection with Google applications. “By default, Claude asks for your approval before each of these actions,” an Anthropic help page also states.

As well as enabling users to send emails through its chatbot, Claude has announced that Google Drive files can now be managed from its interface.

Claude Cowork becomes available on mobile and web for all subscriptions

Anthropic continues to focus the development of its AI models and products on productivity gains for professionals. Among its latest announcements is the release of Claude Cowork, the platform that automates tasks, on mobile and the web for every subscription plan.

This feature was announced by Anthropic in July. However, it initially launched as a beta version available only with the Claude Max subscription.
