Nothing could be preparing to launch a smartwatch with an innovative look and an accessible price.
The British brand Nothing is already recognised for its phones, earbuds and headphones. A connected watch would be a natural next step for the company, and a well-known leaker suggests that it could arrive soon.
According to Yogesh Brar, the watch is expected to launch by September. It would reportedly feature Nothing’s signature design language, centred on transparency. Rather than exposing its internal components, the device would use a clean, carefully crafted aesthetic. That could make it instantly recognisable in a relatively conservative smartwatch market.
Could the Nothing Watch be affordable?
Nothing may make a particularly strong impression with its pricing. Brar claims that the Nothing Watch could retail for under $300. Assuming it runs Wear OS, that would make it considerably more appealing than direct rivals such as Samsung’s Galaxy Watch range and Google’s Pixel Watch models.
Brar has not shared any further details, although he has promised more information soon. If the rumour proves accurate, the device would be expected to follow Nothing’s established philosophy: prioritising trend-led appeal over outright technical specifications while, above all, offering a distinctive software experience.
Nothing’s earlier CMF smartwatches
Nothing has already sold watches in the past, albeit under its CMF brand. These were inexpensive connected watches, but fairly basic ones. Releasing a similar product under the parent brand would allow Nothing to establish itself in another market, while also exposing it to comparisons with established competitors. Hopefully, if the watch does exist, it will be released in France.
From Nothing Ear (1) to the Nothing Watch
For context, Nothing was founded by Carl Pei, formerly of OnePlus, and is based in London. The company made a notable entrance in 2021 with its first product, the Nothing Ear (1). These wireless earbuds won people over with their technical quality, affordable price and iconic design.
Nothing subsequently expanded into smartphones, clothing and headphones. The latter, offering the best value for money on the market, further cemented the company’s position as a trend-conscious brand built around design, simplicity and pricing. This year, Nothing also released the Nothing Phone (4a), a convincing range of entry-level and mid-range smartphones. A smartwatch therefore feels like the logical next chapter for the British company. Naturally, we will be keeping a close eye on any information shared about it.
