The company may skip the public beta testing stage
According to Xiaomitime, Xiaomi is preparing a rapid worldwide rollout of HyperOS 3.1, potentially bypassing the usual public beta testing phase. This is suggested by the company’s server data: it indicates that international builds moved almost immediately from internal testing to a status close to release.
The global version of HyperOS 3.1 will be based exclusively on Android 16, meaning the update will only arrive on devices that support the new Android version. Key changes are expected to include a redesigned recent apps menu in an iOS-style layout, expanded integration with iPhone and other Apple devices, and an upgraded Hyper Island system featuring new animations, broader third-party app support, and more interactive notifications.
Based on information from internal builds, release versions for a number of devices have already been spotted on Xiaomi’s update servers. These include the Xiaomi 17 for the European market, the Xiaomi 15T Pro for Europe, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra / Leica / Leitzphone for Europe and India. All of these builds are based on Android 16.
Although an official date for the global launch has not yet been announced, the signs suggest the update could begin rolling out at any moment.
