Google Teases the Pixel 11 and Almost Confirms a Rumour

Google has published a teaser for the Pixel 11, which all but confirms a long-running rumour.

Google’s next smartphones are on their way. This July, the company announced that it would unveil the next generation of Google Pixel devices on 12 August at a “Made by Google” event. It has now teased one of the key additions that has been rumoured for some time. According to these reports, Google Pixel could take inspiration from Nothing’s signature feature by adding a light indicator, called “Pixel Glow”, to the rear of its smartphones.

An image recently posted by Google on its website almost confirms that this feature will appear on the forthcoming Pixel models. The page says that the Pixel 11 series will be available to pre-order from 12 August. In the image shared by Google, a glowing dot can be seen changing colour around the smartphone’s camera bar. As well as nearly confirming the existence of this new feature, the visual also indicates that Google may offer a gold Google Pixel model in the Pixel 11 series.

Further major Google Pixel 11 upgrades expected

The small illuminated detail just revealed by Google should bring a fresh touch to the design of Google Pixel smartphones. Fortunately, the Pixel 11 series is also expected to receive significant hardware and software upgrades.

On the hardware side, the company will introduce a new Tensor chip. Sources suggest that it could be manufactured using a 2 nm process, which would be a first for the entire smartphone industry. Google could also introduce substantial camera improvements across the Pixel 11 series.

On the software front, Google will almost certainly ship the Pixel 11 models with Android 17, alongside new AI-powered Gemini features.
