Garmin Edge 540: €201 on AliExpress Back to School

A multiband GNSS chip, upcoming elevation estimates and up to 42 hours of battery life: the Garmin Edge 540 makes a smartphone’s GPS tracks look makeshift.

This GPS cycling computer is currently reduced to €201 rather than €369 in AliExpress’s Back to School sale when you use the DSFR33 or PCFR33 code. That is a saving of €168, or 45% off its original price. GPS cycling computers do not go through overstock periods: Garmin keeps production closely aligned with demand, and the infrequent reductions of this size tend to sell out, often before the promotional event that enabled them has ended.

AliExpress provides free, fast delivery from France, along with free returns within 15 days and a refund if you change your mind. The manufacturer’s two-year warranty is included. You can also spread the cost over four interest-free PayPal instalments, working out at roughly €45 each.

Garmin Edge 540 retains its signal beneath trees

Its multiband GNSS chip is the key advantage here. While an entry-level computer can drift in thick woodland or among tall buildings, the Edge 540 maintains an accurate track and dependable distance readings. Naturally, it shows live speed, distance covered and your location, but its standout feature is an estimate of the climbing still to come. On an unfamiliar route, this changes how you manage your effort: before starting a climb, you can see whether it lasts 300 metres or three kilometres. The colour screen is not touch-enabled, with all navigation handled through the physical buttons on the unit. This is a deliberate decision, and the right one when riding in gloves or rain.

No need to recharge between rides

Garmin states battery life of up to 26 hours in standard mode and 42 hours in battery-saver mode. In practice, that covers a week of rides without connecting a cable, while even a long-distance sportive presents no issue. Your data is then uploaded automatically to Garmin Connect and community platforms such as Strava, with no action required from you.

AliExpress Back to School offer: €201 with the DSFR33 or PCFR33 code

At €201, the Edge 540 is priced alongside considerably less well-equipped cycling computers that lack multiband GNSS and elevation tracking. For a cyclist who rides every weekend and is tired of their phone producing imprecise GPS tracks, the decision is straightforward. Apply the DSFR33 or PCFR33 code before confirming your order; the Back to School sale ends at 23:59 on 26 August, unless stock sells out first.
