Garmin has just unveiled its new flagship smartwatches, the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro.

Garmin is aiming to make an impact this autumn with two new smartwatches: the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro. It is the latter that particularly stands out, thanks to its all-titanium construction. Both tough and lightweight, the material is well suited to this type of device.

Garmin Fenix 9 Pro: titanium design and display

The Fenix 9 Pro features a 1.5-inch AMOLED display with peak brightness of 3000 nits. This is an important specification for a product designed to be used outdoors. Its screen is covered with Sapphire crystal glass to protect it from scratches. In terms of battery life, the solar version promises just over 30 days of use, compared with 20 days for the standard model.

It also includes several useful extras, particularly for hiking, such as an integrated LED torch. A microphone and speaker also allow users to make calls without taking out their phone. There is also 64 GB of storage for keeping more music on the watch. The Fenix 9 Pro comes with a silicone strap, weighs 99 grams and is available in 43 mm, 47 mm and 51 mm sizes.

Advanced software tracking remains a key strength

Garmin products are primarily appealing because of their software capabilities. The brand is introducing new endurance tracking data, enabling users to monitor their performance through a graph. Mapping has also been enhanced, offering greater detail as well as a perspective view. Getting lost should not be an issue.

Garmin Epic turns activities into stories

The Fenix 9's major new feature is Epic. It is designed to create an event that brings together several separate activities, creating coherent stories with photos, performance information and health data. It is ideal for a long hike or a particular sporting challenge. As Garmin's Susan Lyman explains, these Fenix 9 watches are above all intended for athletes focused on their performance:

“The Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro watches are designed for those who want to push themselves and exceed their limits. Athletes can gain a better understanding of their endurance progress and train more intelligently with advanced endurance metrics, while powerful navigation tools help adventurers stay confidently on the right path. And with the new Garmin Epic feature, activities become stories that users can relive. With these fēnix smartwatches on their wrist, our customers can redefine their own limits.”

Here are the announced prices:

  • Garmin Fenix 9: from 999 euros
  • Garmin Fenix 9 Pro: from 1099 euros
  • Garmin Fenix 9 Pro Solar: from 1099 euros
