AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D: the gaming CPU at €323 on AliExpress

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the holy grail of gaming CPUs. If it is on your shortlist, it is currently available with a particularly compelling discount during AliExpress’s “Local Day” promotion.

From 1 to 7 August 2026, AliExpress is running its major “Local Day” event, cutting prices on a wide range of high-tech products. In the gaming processor category, the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is available for the remarkable price of €323 instead of €549 when using code LDFR30.

The AMD Ryzen 7 processors are heavily discounted here:

That represents a substantial €226 saving, or -41%. If this model is beyond your budget, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is also reduced to €222 instead of €419, again with code LDFR30. Either option is an excellent deal, and you have 90 days after purchase to change your mind and request a refund.

The processor is certified as genuine through the Brand+ label and includes a two-year manufacturer’s warranty. It is delivered free of charge within just a few days from a warehouse in France, with VAT included. You can also pay in four interest-free instalments through PayPal: roughly €81 when placing the order, followed by the same amount over the next three months.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D: a leading gaming processor

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D’s key strength lies in its cache rather than its clock speeds. It features 96 MB of L3 memory stacked directly beneath the cores, for 104 MB of cache in total, while a standard Ryzen 7 9700X is limited to 32 MB. This capacity makes a significant difference when a game scene becomes demanding. A huge Total War battle, a sprawling metropolis in Cities: Skylines II, a crowded MMO raid or a flight in Microsoft Flight Simulator can overwhelm a conventional processor and cause stuttering.

The 9800X3D maintains its pace and smooths out most frame-rate drops, which are the ones you notice most when holding a controller. Its higher frequencies than the 7800X3D - 4.7 GHz base and 5.2 GHz boost, compared with 4.2 GHz and 5.0 GHz - result from one specific change. AMD has positioned the cache beneath the cores rather than above them, improving cooling for the cores and giving them more clock-speed headroom.

Performance for creative work and graphics cards

The benefit is not restricted to gaming. Exports in Lightroom Classic, renders in DaVinci Resolve and 3D scenes in Blender are all genuinely faster. There are no graphics card restrictions either: choose a Radeon RX to keep an all-AMD system, or a recent NVIDIA GeForce, including the 50XX series, with no special configuration required.

PCIe 5.0, AM5 and DDR5 support

Its PCIe 5.0 interface supports the latest GPUs and SSDs, while the AM5 socket leaves room to upgrade your system later without replacing everything. It uses DDR5 memory, with an official specification of up to 5600 MHz. There is another advantage for enthusiasts who enjoy fine-tuning their build: this is the first fully unlocked X3D processor.

Earlier models were locked, but Precision Boost Overdrive is available here, allowing you to gain a few extra frames without replacing a single component. For a PC designed primarily for gaming, there is no real equivalent today. The AliExpress flash sale lowers its price, providing the opportunity to install the most powerful gaming processor currently available without paying full price.
